Through his own battle with cancer in 2004, Lyle realized something needed to be done to provide assistance and support for cancer patients and their families throughout their journey and regardless of outcome. “When I was first diagnosed with cancer, I can tell you that in spite of family and friends, I had never felt so alone and unsure of what the future would bring,”

Over the years, the Never Alone Foundation has provided funding to numerous agencies and programs working to defeat cancer, in addition to supporting initiatives that provide assistance to the families of cancer patients, both before and after diagnosis. Funds totalling over $1 million dollars, in addition to the supporting programs implemented by the Never Alone Foundation, have been donated to cancer fighting agencies including CancerCare Manitoba, Canadian Cancer Society, Health Sciences Foundation, Riverview Health Centre Foundation, Camp With the support of his wife Heidi, as well as their three children, Danni, Brodie, and Wesley, Lyle continues his work with the Never Alone Foundation, serving as Board Co-chairman.
